Ye Olde George Inn is a delightful 15th century coaching inn, set in the heart of some of Hampshire's most beautiful countryside. The pub is a beautiful historic building with the River Meon running by the side. Delightful walks along the South Downs Way. Full a La Carte menu and light meals available. Long regarded as one of the loveliest places in the valley of the River Meon, the village of East Meon boasts a Norman church with a remarkable 12th century marble font and an impressive 15th century Courthouse.
This atmospheric old inn still retains its open fires and wooden floors and is situated in the heart of Hampshire with a wealth of local suppliers offering free-range and organic produce on its doorstep. Mark, the business owner, changes his menus often to take advantage of the local seasonal fayre. Mark and his team of chefs pride themselves on making all of the dishes on the premises, except the hand-made ice cream, which is made at a local farm. The menu changes to follow the seasons to offer lighter, fresh dishes in the summer and good hearty warming food in the winter. The team are happy to cater for all kinds of dietary requirements, and given enough notice, can design a few dishes to suit all guests.
